Power & Politics

New Brunswick was established as a province on June 18, 1784, that would have its own government, money and taxes. It was divided into parishes and counties with magistrates, sheriffs and other officers. This weekend, see how power and politics in the mid-1800s played a role in the lives of the Villagers.

Saturday, July 9:

  • Theatre at 11 am, 1 pm and 3 pm
  • Benevolent Women’s Society at 11 am at the Perley House
  • Parish School is open from 1 pm – 3 pm
  • Tea at the Hagerman House at 2 pm
  • Young Ladies Picnic by the Lint Barn at 3 pm

Sunday, July 10:

  • A gathering of well-dressed men at the Morehouse House at 11 am
  • Theatre at 11 am, 1 pm and 3 pm
  • The Perleys are hosting dinner with an important guest at 12:30 pm
  • Service at St. Mark’s Anglican Church at 2 pm
  • Minister’s Tea at the Jones House after church
