Arts in the Village
A weekend of hands-on craft at Kings Landing – Saturday, June 13 and Sunday, June 14 from 10am to 4pm.
Some traditions are best understood with your own two hands.
This weekend, the village comes alive with the makers, tools, and craft that filled everyday life in 19th-century New Brunswick, and you’re invited to take part. Pull up a stool beside a working artisan. Dip a brush. Try the bobbins. Write a few lines at a schoolhouse desk.
Come for an hour or stay for the day. Most activities are drop-in and welcoming to all ages, so wander the village, follow your curiosity, and let the makers show you how it’s done.
What’s Happening – ALL WEEKEND LONG
Victorian Paper Craft – At the Summer Stage from 11am – 3pm, drop in anytime.
Fold and decorate your own Victorian puzzle purse — a clever little keepsake that delighted hands long before ours. No experience needed, just a few minutes and a bit of curiosity.

Watercolour Painting in Hagerman Garden – In the Hagerman Garden from 1030am-1130am and 130pm-330pm, drop in anytime.
Settle in among the blooms and paint what’s in front of you. Paper and watercolours are provided, with gentle instruction on hand if you’d like some help, or bring your own supplies and lose an hour to the garden.

Write a Kings Landing Poem – At the Prince Willaim Schoolhouse, all day.
Take a seat at a real schoolhouse desk, read some New Brunswick verse from the 1800s, and write your own, inspired by the village around you. Leave your poem with us — the best ones may earn a spot on the schoolhouse wall.

What’s Happening – SATURDAY ONLY

What’s Happening – SUNDAY ONLY
Bobbin Lace – In the Artists’ Studio at Slipp House from 11am – 3pm, drop in anytime
