Book Signing: Bilijk by Andrea Bear Nicholas

Join us for a reading and signing with Andrea Bear Nicholas, Professor Emerita of Native Studies at St. Thomas University, for her new book Bilijk: A Documentary History of Kingsclear First Nation, 1783–1950 (Goose Lane Editions).

Drawing on Oral Traditions, archival documents, paintings, maps, and photographs, Bilijk traces the history of the Kingsclear First Nation from its establishment in the late 18th century through the mid-20th century, documenting the impact of colonization on the Wəlastəkokewiyik.
