Drop-in Small Fabric Bag Painting Workshop
Come by the Learning Centre anytime between 1–4 PM to decorate a 4 × 6″ drawstring bag with your own design. Use black fabric paint, fabric markers, or stencils. This activity echoes Stephanie’s quilt practice, holding space for both care and attention. Enjoy a bit of easy, hands-on creating.

Cost: Included with regular Kings Landing admission; no extra fee.

𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞: Stephanie Weirathmueller, an artist from Fredericton, NB, uses drawing and written reflections to capture ordinary moments in portraits, landscapes, and interiors.

Living with ME/CFS, she treats her practice as a process of becoming—loosening self-critical habits and exploring slower, gentler ways of working. Through art-making she works to befriend herself and stay present with both tenderness and difficulty, noticing where joy and play arise and where they do not.

“During this residency I’m slowing down to work with Kings Landing—its objects, atmosphere, and remembering—through writing, drawing, video, and photography. I’m developing my own language of care while staying attentive to my energy; the patient search for moments of play is part of the process.”

Her goals include slowing down with traditional drawing methods and creating fabric paintings that she will sew into blankets, while offering workshops that embody slowness, gentle reflection, and connection.
